Teddy 100 Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 I've been using Emby for years with Windows Emby server and all my media hosted on a 240TB NAS Server. Everything has been working fine for years, but I've been thinking about installing the Terramaster server app on the NAS and I'm wondering if there's a possibility of migrating the database and configuration I have on my Windows Emby server to the NAS so I don't have to rebuild the entire database on the NAS again because it would take several weeks to do so.
Luke 42077 Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 Hi, officially we don't really have a process to transfer between windows and linux right now. The best officially supported mechanism is to use the backup and restore process to only restore user data, but everything else will need to be redone from scratch. @sa2000might have some tips on some things that might also work, even if they are not officially recommended at this time.
Solution sa2000 674 Posted February 15, 2025 Solution Posted February 15, 2025 I am afraid with the filesystems having different syntax for file and folder paths, it is not going to be possible. 1
Teddy 100 Posted February 18, 2025 Author Posted February 18, 2025 Thanks to both of you. I imagined it wouldn't be possible due to the different access to the directories, but I was asking in case there was an app that could do it. 2
