Streaming (FuboTV) EPG?

Debating taking ano0ther run at using Sage.  I have the ability to pull in most of my FuboTV channels via a few solutions.  Namely:

1. FuboTV Project (creates an M3u file I can import many of the channels in)

2. EPlusTV (also creates a M3U file I can import over ESPN and Fox channels)

3. OTA Antenna for locals.

I've historically used Emby's ability to [pull in Verizon Fios and/or XFinity local guides and that gives me probably 80% overlap with Fubo, but not 100%.  I was wondering if there is a way to get FuboTV guide data through Emby.  You can get it through JellyFin using Schedules Direct, but Jellyfin still has some other limitations to what I want to be able to use.  And Schedule Direct prohibits the use of paid services like Emby.

Thanks,

Jay

Morning Luke,

Sorry for the poorly worded question.  Yes, I do import the M3U files into Emby, very easy and convenient.

My question was specifically pulling in the Guide.  Currently Emby offers various sources, looks like the same options when you go to Zap2It and type in your zip code (OTA, Verizon Fios, Xfinity, etc).  I can use one of those to manually map guides to many of the channels I import from FuboTV M3U source, but those sources are not 100% complete (ie FuboTV provides access to Marquee which carries many Chicago Cubs games as an example).

Schedules Direct offers access to FuboTV as well as the same sources Emby does (Verizon, FIOS, OTA).  So wondering if Emby has access to FuboTV guides but its not configured to be pulled in based on Zip Code, i.e. can we have a streaming dropdown option to capture Fubo, YTTV, Hulu Live, etc?  Or does Emby not have access to those guides in their repository?

Thanks,

Jay

Emby Guide Data Plugin has been updated to 1.0.18.
The update allows the selection of FuboTV Guide Data as well as many other IPTV service providers.
In the US, the list of Guide Providers is very long now for most zipcodes, so if you don't see the provider you're looking for, don't forget to scroll the list!

Please do not assume that Emby supports an IPTV provider because it shows up in the guide list.
We've enabled these additional guides to make channel matching much easier for people having access to program/service e.g. tve. These new entries will also provide additional lineup available to use when manually matching channels.

I must say this is pretty awesome.  Channels don't largely map automatically, so have to do it manually. but I've gotten most of the channels I wanted mapped already with a few stragglers I'm trying to find the right channel to map.

How many channels were you not able to map?
Can you post an example or two?

A handful.  Mainly obscure channels such as Fubo Movies, Bravo Vault, Free Movies, etc.  They may be there, but the acronym was not always self evident, so it was trial and error.  I was able to map all the major channels however.

Currently I am using Channels as a back end server and that allows for mapping of all channels pretty much 100%, so it's worth it for $85 a year to not to have to go through the hassle. But I could manage if for some reason I Channels went away.

Out of curiosity, did you try exporting an XML guide from Channels into Emby?

I'm actually doing that right now.  The positive of using the M3U and XML file from Channels is everything automaps, whereas if I use the M3U from the various sources I mentioned previously and the Fubo guide from Emby, I have to map every single channel.  I could do it, but because the Emby guide only gives the ACRONYM for the individual, it's a lot more work to do it that way.  Even having the ability to map the guide or channels in alphabet order probably would reduce the effort, but for now, I'll just pay the $85 annual fee to Channels so I can get the M3U and XML with minimal effort.
