mrhat 8 Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 Hey guys! thanks again for the community support! I acquired a new IPTV provider and works great in Emby except the program guide. I'm wracking my brain trying to understand why. I can use other common 'iptv' specific apps and load the same M3U file in, they are able to pull the guide and even do the 'timeshift' VOD stuff where i can go backwards in time and re-watch an event. I have tried in Emby to install XMLTV and just copy and paste the URL into there -> no change. Here is a snippet of the M3U file. #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="loc.CBS (KCTV) Kansas City, MO" tvg-name="US| CBS 5 KANSAS CITY MO (KCTV)" tvg-logo="http://url/picons/logos/USA/CBS-5-GREEN-BAY-WI-WFRV.png" group-title="US| CBS NETWORK",US| CBS 5 KANSAS CITY MO (KCTV) http://url.com:80/b48747c4f4/6ab6dced93c7/173232
Luke 42077 Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 Hi, did you check the contents of your xml data?

From the Dashboard, click the Logs menu and it will be the log at the top. Carlo
mrhat 8 Posted February 7, 2025 Author Posted February 7, 2025 Hey Luke, I don't actually have any xml files. All the provider gave me was a URL. When I put the URL into a browser it spits me out that M3U file. In Emby i just put the URL into the M3U as a TV source (Screenshot) Before i pulled logs i hit the 'refresh guide' button. embyserver.txt

Sometimes m3u's will contain links to xml guides, but it appears that yours does not. Does your provider have a recommended guide data source? I know that epg.best is popular for iptv.
Solution mrhat 8 Posted February 15, 2025 Author Solution Posted February 15, 2025 Hey Luke! thanks to this community I found another post with the answer I tweaked the URL i got and instead of the M3U file, it spit out the XML data for the guide. Super happy to have this working in Emby! 2
