Hello,

there are cases when there is a movie and a series of the same cartoon. Is there a way to have them in the same parent folder and tell Emby to detect the content correctly?

In a mixed content library: cartoons\

there's a folder which contains the movies and the series:

  • Monsters\(2001) Monsters, Inc.mkv
  • Monsters\(2013) Monters University.mkv
  • Monsters\Monsters at Work\S01
  • Monsters\Monsters at Work\S02

the problem is that Emby detects everything as a series and displays both movies as part of the series (before the first episode).

When I split the content to two folders...

  • Monsters\(2001) Monsters, Inc.mkv
  • Monsters\(2013) Monters University.mkv
  • Monsters at Work\S01
  • Monsters at Work\S02

... everything works but I'd like to keep the same cartoon in the same parent folder regardless of the content type . Is there a way to get around this issue?

Thanks,

Rob

That's an odd naming convention. You should restructure that to:

  • Monsters\Monsters, Inc. (2001)\Monsters, Inc. (2001).mkv
  • Monsters\Monsters University (2013)\Monsters University (2013).mkv
  • Monsters\Monsters at Work (2021)\Season 1
  • Monsters\Monsters at Work (2021)\Season 2

Great. It works even when I have the year at the beginning of the name which helps me keep the sort order within the parent folder in accordance with release date - it's helpful when I access the content from outside of Emby.

Many thanks,

Rob
