Ahole 17 Posted January 28, 2025 Posted January 28, 2025 As mentioned in some other posts - I am doing a test server using a Linux machine that accesses the media library over the network. My media library remains on my NAS (where my original Emby server has been installed). I'm not sure that despite noting some stressing of my NAS with transcoding (esp while doing other tasks) that I see any real performance differences. I thnk the biggest issue for the "new" setup is that the library has to be accessed over the network -- it does not seem to show up with any playback issues! However once specific issue is that if I go to a particular TV Show that has multiple seasons - the new server takes about 3 to 5 seconds for the multiple seasons to show up. As compared to the longer standing server having the multiple seasons the moment I open that TV Show. Is there a setting that I am missing that "pre--populates" those multiple seasons or somehow puts that in cache? The new server is defintely more powerful than the NAS - the only issue would be if network accessing is needed to popluate the lists of seasons under a particulr show ??
Neminem 1519 Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 Do you have metadata in your media folders such as images and nfo ?
Ahole 17 Posted January 29, 2025 Author Posted January 29, 2025 I do -- but I think I may have fixed AFTER having an issue that required reinstalling the server. When I first installed the server on my Ubuntu machine I used a "linux" file source - lscr.io/linuxserver/emby:beta when installing as a docker When I reinstalled last night as a whole new install I followed the instruction on emby website which listed the source as - emby/embyserver:beta After this install all the season folders weere visible right away. Might be a potential error to watch out for , if in fact the 2 sources are differnt and the sencond is in fact better for docker (on linux). Maybe @Lukecould tell us if the 2 files are different
Neminem 1519 Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 Emby only supply emby/embyserver Home | LinuxServer.io is doing some changes to the lscr.io/linuxserver/emby I don't know why. There is also binhex that makes its own version of emby-server
