guill69f 17 Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 Hi, i have a couple of files that contain episodes which are not in the same sequence as indicated on TVDB, for example: the file "TVshowS01E18.S01E01" contains episodes 01 and 18, but episode 18 is the first episode when i play the file, then episode 1 plays next the file "TVshowS03E01.S02E18" contains 2 episodes from 2 different seasons (2 and 3), but the playing sequence will be Episode 1 from season 3 and then Episode 18 from season 2 The reason for that is probably that the source for the file was not following the aired sequence from the TVDB. So the question are: Is emby able to understand the correct sequence to present the episodes? How to i need to organize / name the files, so that emby can see that some files have episodes connected to different seasons, and present the episodes in the right way. I would like to avoid editing the file themselves (splitting), but if this is the only way, any software recommendation to do that? I found https://github.com/pathartl/BananaSplit but it crashes all the time on my win10 install. thanks!
Solution Luke 42078 Posted January 22, 2025 Solution Posted January 22, 2025 Hi, there is currently no support for this. If you really don’t want to split the file then I would just make two copies of it.
guill69f 17 Posted January 22, 2025 Author Posted January 22, 2025 ok then, thanks. so if i would have 2 copies of the file "TVshowS03E01.S02E18", i would rename them "TVshowS03E01" and "TVshowS02E18", but when i would play the S02E18, it would start to play episode 1 from Season 3 right?

Correct.
