Library Not Populating on Linux Mint

Strange Issue I am experiencing. I decided to get rid of Windows 10 on my old htpc and move to Linux instead. Installed the latest Linux Mint and emby server and emby desktop. All good. Configured the server, added my premiere key. All good. Added my libraries, all pointing to the relevant shares on my Unraid server (I don't, at the moment want to use the emby server on the Unraid machine) and all seems to be working well, except for the Films folder.

I have three films libraries, one for kids films, one for Christmas films and one for the main films. The kids films and Christmas films all work perfectly, no issues at all. The main films library has two folders added, normal definition films and high definition films. The normal definition films folder seems to work fine, but the HD films folder, whatever I do, however many times I scan it, emby just won't see the 3,500 films in the folder.

Can't figure out why.

OK, what I will do is move all the HD films to the films folder as this is a historical split I no longer need. I remove the second folder path from emby server and move all the HD films on my Unraid server and remove the HD films share. Emby server picks up the changes to the films folder and scans the films adding them in. Yes, they are all there. Sorted I think. However, on the next scan, Emby server can no longer find any films at all in the films folder, including the ones that were in there originally.

The films library is now empty in Emby! The files are all there on Unraid, but emby no longer sees them. Scratching my head what makes this folder different to all the others. The other libraries all work fine.

TL/DR new setup on Linux, movies library won't populate in emby server but all others do.

Just guessing - Probably a permissions issue.  Emby on Linux runs under an account named emby.  That account needs permissions to the media folders.  If that doesn't help, I suggest posting your emby logs active at the time the scan was performed.

Hi there. How many Emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths are added to each one?

Sorry for the delay in responding, work has been a nightmare for me this week...my first thought was that it was a permissions issue, which is why I initially moved the hd films folder contents to the films folder which was working fine until i added the contents from the hd films folder. Thats the bit that threw me...I have created 9 libraries so far and this is the only one that is an issue. However, I have updated my unraid software to the new 7.0.0 (from 6.12.13) and it is currently working perfectly fine...and I'm not sure exactly what the issue was...I'm assuming a permissions issue on the hd films folder that effectively transferred the permissions to the folder contents when i moved them...I will keep an eye on it and see how it develops
