imdbid not being used

I have a movie with the following directory structure:

\name (2009) [imdbid=imdbid]\name2009.mp4

But its being recognised as another movie with name being part of its title.

I appear to be using the correct directory naming as per this thread:

Do I need to use imdbid in the file name itself? What is overriding that setting? Should I be using TMDB instead?

IMDBId is used only as a lookup/reference at online providers' databases (TMDB, TVDB, OMBDApi...); if it's not registered/assigned to an item there - it ain't used, it's the same af it were not present and query is made based on the rest of available data, i.e. Name (and Year, if present).

That said, specific example would be required for particulars.

Generally not required unless multi-movie folder or multi-versioning.

If TMDB is your library top preferred meta-provider - that'd increase your chances of successful identification.

I didn't get a chance to test this yet (as the movie I had problems with is fine now that I identified it manually) but if I spot another movie that was originally mislabelled, and I fix it using TMDBID, I'll add it here.
