Hi,

Very strange problem just started. Around 11:50am everyday I get an email about 2 user policies being updated, but they actually haven't, or not from what I can tell.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Did you edit any user details/settings in server settings ?

If not, you could enable Debug Logging and see if the log next time it happens would have some clues - see Debug Logging section here

No, not changed a thing, this is why it seems so strange and random. It's always the same 2 users as well, no one else.

Happened again today at 11:50am GMT.

I had the extra logging on this time.

Might be to do with the VirtualTV plugin. Could you remove that plugin and see if it goes away

Seems to coincide with

2025-01-08 11:50:15.748 Info SecurityManager: Registered for livetv-virtual

If it is not that, then would need to see more examples - perhaps taking copy of /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/config/users each day and zip and send me by PM the daily zipped copies and the logs from one or more times when it arises

Ok, I've uninstalled that plugin, we're see what happens tomorrow. But having looked closer at any differences in user settings, it seems to only affect those who have "Live TV" access on, so you may be right.

What I don't understand is why has it started just recently, I've had that plugin installed for ages.

@pünktchenDon't know if you can chime in on this one?

Yes, VirtualTV is updating the user policies with Tag restrictions. But it should only happen if not all users (with live tv access) are enabled for the channels in the plugin settings.

Right, there's my problem then, thanks @pünktchen

Unfortunately that's currently the only way to hide live tv channels for some users. But it should also happen only once for each user unless you change the setting in the plugin or manually edit the Tags for those users.

That's the thing, I've not changed anything for a long time and suddenly it's updating user profiles everyday at 11:50.

Is that about the time the guide refresh is scheduled?

It might have been, I can't remember and I've uninstalled the plugin for now to confirm the problem.
