Nuitarius 22 Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 (edited) Hi Team Emby, I really love my Emby server. It works so well. Due to a non-Emby issue, I am in need of assistance on an Emby feature. One of my disks is going bad (ECC errors), so I have been backing up the movies from that drive to another disk with capacity. What I have done: - Emby server stopped - Copy all folders from the disk to another disk Next step: - I want to change the file path for the movies in my library Issue: - I cannot change the file path I may be able to delete the path and create a new one, but maybe that is undesireable for Emby, me and the state of metadata etc.? I do not know what would happen if I delete/create new paths compared to editing the path. I assumed that when I was able to press edit, that it was possible to actually change the path name? Do you know why I am not able to edit the file path and what is the best solution and what would the consequences be of that solution? Thank you for your time and effort Edited January 6, 2025 by Nuitarius
sa2000 674 Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 I would add the new disk media paths to the libraries folder paths definitions and complete the scans and then remove the old disks paths

Solution Luke 42077 Posted January 13, 2025 Solution Posted January 13, 2025 @Nuitariusessentially you just need to remove the old paths from the user interface, and add the new ones. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks ! 1
Nuitarius 22 Posted January 16, 2025 Author Posted January 16, 2025 I created the new paths, waited for a complete scan, and then deleted the old paths. Everything seems to be intact. Thanks 2
