Changing the sort order of recorded tv shows

Hello all. I could not find an answer to this.

I use Emby to record OTA news. After recording, when I browse in the folder, there are no sorting options, and it puts the last recorded episode at the bottom, meaning I have to scroll through all the old recordings to get to the latest. Is there anyway to change the sort option in the show's folder (see a couple of examples attached). In the examples, it shows 12/9 first, then 12/10, then 12/12, and so on. Today is 1/1 so I would have to scroll through ~20 episodes to see the latest.

1. Any way to sort in the folder?

2. Has anyone come up with a better solution?

TIA, Don

@intermanonce it gets recorded it just becomes a normal tv series in your library. These typically don't have sorting controls although I can see how that would be useful here.

Thank you, Luke. I have tried to find another way to approach the problem but cannot find a way, except occasionally deleting old episodes.

Thanks. Yea we could add sorting to the episode list, although that list above wouldn't be able to sort much due to lack of data. So probably just air date, file name, title, and date added.

Air date, modified or created date, or date added. For me, any of those. I record each day, so it should work. Thanks Like. Great job.

So I guess there was never a solution to this?   From a logical standpoint, Emby is a recorder.  MOST recorders will show you a list of your most recent recordings in order from the most recent recording.  I spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to get Emby to do this and based on this prior message in 2025, I guess that capability doesn't exist.

Example- to watch PBS Newshour, which was recorded last Friday, I have over 300 prior recordings.  I have to scroll through these 300 prior recordings to get to the bottom of the list to find the most recent recording.

In my opinion it's logically backwards.  Emby should know what it just recorded.   Even if it provided a list of the most recent 20 recordings, that would be a solution.

If some other solution exists to easily find video's just recorded,  I can't find it.
