wlknsn 1 Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Looking though the forum for exactly this. On HEOS (using Denon X4500H), I can start to play an album for two songs and then it simply stops playing and throwing errors when you want to switch to the next item or specifically select the next song in the album.
wlknsn 1 Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 This is still happening. Same setup: Denon/Heos playing an album stops after 1 or 2 songs.
Luke 42077 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 hi @wlknsncan we please look at an example of your issue? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
wlknsn 1 Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Alright, so here goes. First of, it seems this issue is 100% isolated to HEOS/DENON because this isn't happening on other devices/apps. In order to replicate the issue: 1) Open Emby app on Android phone, select any album, use the stream button and select your dlna device ("Living" in my case). Press Play. 2) Audio commences on Denon X4500H. On opening Heos app, you will notice the track playing properly. However, in the HEOS app, there is no queue shown (to show the current album). Instead it says "Urlstream". 3a) After the first song: in the Emby app you will notice that the current (2nd song) is not playing, although it is. So the first "disconnect" starts here 3b) while the 2nd song is playing, in the HEOS app you can't move to the next item either. The current song is shown in the HEOS app which isn't in the Emby app. It seems unaware of the album queue. 3c) as per the original issue, after the 2nd song, nothing is played/queued anymore so the music stops. Attached the Emby log where the last entry is in fact where the music stopped: "Error DLNA: Error updating device info for Living" When the issue occurs, in the Emby Android App, when trying to go to next song or something, you get: "ERROR" "Cancelling connection to http://.../upnp/control/renderer_dbc/AVTranspo... due to a previous timeout." embyserver.txt
wlknsn 1 Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Actually, to elaborate on the previous. When you start playing via DLNA to Denon, you even get an error when you move directly to the next song of the album in the Emby app. Checkout the additional log items below as of 2024-12-30 15:05:37.723, after which I tapped "Next" in the album. embyserver (1).txt
Solution Luke 42077 Posted December 30, 2024 Solution Posted December 30, 2024 Hi, please see if the latest update to the dlna plugin helps. Thanks.
wlknsn 1 Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 The result of the update: + Play album (more than 2 songs) including all controls back and forth from emby working very well + I'm no longer seeing other user's devices in the dlna list which is fantastic - Heos app still can't go back and forth in the album, but for me, if at least the emby works, i'm happy. Ps: maybe small ux improvement for the dnla plugin update, perhaps more clearly show in the my plugins screen/tab (which is default anyway) that there are updates. Would have never known if you didn't write it here. Also been looking everywhere for the version details/fixes but seems hard to find. Either way, big thanks. 1
