Local experience while using VPN

Hi All, 

While at home, my Emby experience doesn't require login, I'm using a vpn 192.X and i would like to replicate the same experience while away from home. As the vpn is complicated for some of my family members, I allow web access and have set passwords for each user and hidden usernames for remote login. As a result, I have to type in the username each time when connecting via vpn. 

I have restarted emby since adding the 192.X range, but users aren't displayed like the true local experience, so i'm assuming it's still seen as a remote network. 

Lan Networks in emby config gui - 

10.10.40.0/24, 192.168.100.0/24

Emby is running in docker on unraid

Any ideas?

On the server under users press every unique user and disable all the "Hide this user from" options.

Don't know if it will work but where i would start.

Check the emby log to find the source IP for these connections. You might not have the right subnet in your LAN settings.

So after looking at the logs i could see the connection coming in from the wan address. In the emby app i was using the local address so i'm not sure how it was working the wan address out. 

Anyway the issue was the VPN leaking and required some chnages to the defualt route.
