EmYaj 25 Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 (edited) Hello All, I know there's an email for questions like this but I've gone back and forth a bit with them and have not had any luck so thought I'd give this a shot in case someone else in the community has seen an issue like this. I have a 75 device license that is "well within the limit" according to the Emby Premiere section of the dashboard. However, and this is likely part of the issue, I can only see that message intermittently, most of the time when I try to check it gives me the emby loading circle in the middle of the page and doesn't show the message at the bottom of the page stating if im within the limit or not. I can force it to come up by removing the key, clicking save, and then pasting the key back in and clicking save which is how I took the first screenshot below. The second screenshot shows what I normally see. It didnt bother me too much for the past week or so that I've noticed it happening but as of today I'm starting to get the "Emby premiere device limit" error and then an option to watch for 1 minute only. (On the Windows Desktop app). Also maybe not worthy is that this is an app I use regularly to access the server, including earlier today, with no issue. The last screenshot below shows the error I'm seeing in the firefox f12 console, in case it is helpful. I apologize in advance is these types of posts are not permitted, just starting to get desperate to get this figure out now that the server is not usable. EDIT: I just had a thought - I have a second Emby server in a different container on the same host server with a separate license key. Is it possible that the emby license "auth" server doesn't like two licenses coming from the same IP address? EDIT 2: CORRECTION - The issue is not intermittent, the issue only happens on one server at a time. When I "fix" the issue using the method above (removing the key and then re-adding it) that will "fix" that server but break the other one. The issue flips back and forth between the two servers and only affects one of them at a time so something must be conflicting between them I'm just not sure what. Edited December 20, 2024 by EmYaj
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 There is, as far as i know, no limit on how many servers from the same network at the same address but with different keys can be available. I have two (but with the same license key) on my network and it never reports a problem. I do not really understand why anyone would have a legitimate need for so many clients or users but it is your server so it is up to you if you really need such overkill. No body I know has more than 15 users and she never has more than 6 on line at any one time. You will need to wait until the experts notice this post but your issue really seems to be with billing.

Thanks for the reply - I had the two servers running on the same license for a while also, the problems seem to have started when I changed one of them to a separate license.
Solution EmYaj 25 Posted December 20, 2024 Author Solution Posted December 20, 2024 Issue turned out to be conflicting server id. Solution was to delete device.txt in data directory and restart server. All is good now! Wanted to post update here just in case anyone else in future finds themself in this thread.
