hrvxla 2 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I have a user who is connecting to an emby server over a good connection to the server (> 50Mbps). Their streaming bitrate is set to 30Mbps in their user profile and transcoding is enabled for the user. The server's Internet bandwidth is configured to 300Mbps (see screenshots). Specifically I'm seeing interruptions in playback with files that have a bitrate > 6 Mbps. For instance.... $ exiftool THE-COLOR-OF-MONEY.m4v | grep Bitrate Avg Bitrate : 10.6 Mbps ...will give the following errors in the logfile... 2024-12-13 14:44:20.635 Info Server: http/1.1 Response 200 to 203.0.113.57. Solution Q-Droid 989 Posted December 13, 2024 Solution Posted December 13, 2024 (edited) 15 hours ago, hrvxla said: Their streaming bitrate is set to 30Mbps in their user profile and transcoding is enabled for the user. The server's Internet bandwidth is configured to 300Mbps (see screenshots). All this does when setting on your server as shown is overriding the global limit for this user from 300 down to 30. The max bitrate of ~6 shown below is from from the bandwidth detection between the client and your server. To overcome this limit your user has to set a higher bitrate on their end in the app playback settings for their session. Edit: The Auto setting on the client is unreliable, many would say it's broken and a hindrance. 15 hours ago, hrvxla said: 2024-12-13 14:44:21.884 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectStream limit: media bitrate: 10662025, max bitrate: 6370000 Edited December 14, 2024 by Q-Droid added auto 1

Luke 42079 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Hi, you restricted the user’s access to remuxing. I would try turning that back on.

hrvxla 2 Posted December 17, 2024 Author Posted December 17, 2024 thanks for the help; bitrate on the app was adjusted and remuxing allowed for the user. 1
