updatefreak 11 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Hi, I tried to play a movie on my android smartphone with two different ways with mobile data: on Chrome (Android) -> the movie was lagging after starting it on Kodi (Android) with Emby Next -> the same movie was not lagging So I was wondering why? I expected that it's hardware transcoding for both ways (yes, I have the lifetime licence) and it should be not lagging. My docker compose file for Synology NAS (I use Docker): services: emby: image: emby/embyserver:latest container_name: Emby environment: - TZ=Europe/Berlin - UID=1026 - GID=100 - GIDLIST=937 ports: - 8096:8096 - 8920:8920 volumes: - /volume1/docker/emby:/config:rw - /volume1/Musik:/music:rw - /volume1/Videos/Filme:/movies:rw - /volume1/Videos/Serien:/tvshows:rw - /volume1/Dokumente/Bildung/Videokurse:/tutorials:rw - /volume1/Dokumente/Bildung/Studium:/lectures:rw devices: - /dev/dri/renderD128:/dev/dri/renderD128 - /dev/dri/card0:/dev/dri/card0 restart: unless-stopped network_mode: host
Solution updatefreak 11 Posted December 9, 2024 Author Solution Posted December 9, 2024 With the Android Emby App its running. So I will use the app and not the browser
Luke 42077 Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Hi, the app will have a more robust video player than the web browser, so that's why videos may be quicker to load with it. 1
