cebbigh 1 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 When the Emby app on my Nvidia Shield Pro failed to connect to my Windows PC Server the message said that my server needed to be updated. Long story short, I wound up uninstalling the Emby server and the apps both on the Nvidia Shield Pro and my Apple 4k box. I have everything up and running again, but the app on the Nvidia Shield lists 2 available options: Emby for Android 3.8 and 3.0. 3.0 seems to work fine. 3.8 does not display the movie images in my library. It just displays a default generic placeholder. Any suggestions?
Luke 42077 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 HI, these could be the server or our client apps. Can you please tell us the exact names of the apps as well as the full version numbers? That will make it easier to identify what's going on. Thanks !
Solution cebbigh 1 Posted November 17, 2024 Author Solution Posted November 17, 2024 The client apps are Emby for Android TV 3.8 and Emby for Android 3.0 as they appear doing a search on Google Play on the Nvidia Shield Pro. The only way I can force a download of the 3.0 version is to type emb vs emby on the search, otherwise the option for 3.0 isn't available. Sorry, as I try to explain it sounds to me like I'm a bit crazy. What I have set up now (3.0) is working very well. I don't want to mess around loading the more recent version if I don't have to. The client download on the Apple 4K works without issues. (If only Lossless worked on the Apple!) I'm afraid that is about as close as I can get to the exact names of the apps with my knowledge level (and aging brain).
Luke 42077 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 OK we suggest using Emby for Android going forward. Thanks.
