1.2.6 on App Store

Hi,

I just found that from now on I have Emby app available on Samsung app store (before I used USB stick method every month).

The problem is that only 1.2.6 version is available. What's the catch?

It's a bit disappointing experience after using the 1.9.0 version.

TV: Q9FN  (2018)

Hi, unfortunately Samsung is no longer accepting app updates for 2018 models, so that's why the store version is behind for you. Installing the latest version requires the USB install.

I can't find from where to download the USB version. Is it possible to do USB install if the app is available through the store?

The download that I used till yesterday is not updated any more: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/tree/master/tizen

The last version is 1.9.0 and is older than 1 month.

Hi, have you taken a look at this:

Yes, I was using this solution unit today. Today I tried to install the latest version 1.9.0' but I cannot because TV said its validity period has expired. It is over 1 month old.

As I understand, Samsung doesn't allow instalation of old versions.

What about the 2019 models? Is Samsung not accepting any updates for these as well?

Hi, yes unfortunately they are now stuck at 1.7.0. We're trying to badger Samsung to let us push out an update for all older models. So far no response from them on that, but hopefully sooner or later we'll get one.

They tend to drop supporting models around the 5-year-old point.  Which lines up with what you're seeing.
