FrodoBaggins 7 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Running Version 4.8.8.0 on Synology NAS Hi Guys, Was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction, please. I have a single-season TV Show on Emby which aired in one order but was released on DVD in another. All of the metadata sources use the Aired order so that is how I have numbered them in the folder, e.g. Example - S01E01 - Bob Drinks A Beer Example - S01E02 - Sally Walks The Dog Example - S01E03 - Tony Goes Surfing If I edit the metadata for the show in Emby and change the File Order from 'Aired' to 'DVD' the order of the episodes changes as it is displayed. So it might show something like this: 1 - Bob Drinks A Beer 2 - Tony Goes Surfing 3 - Sally Walks The Dog The problem is that if I click on Episode 2 for example, expecting to watch 'Tony Goes Surfing', it still links to the original file named 'S01E02' which is 'Sally Walks The Dog'. If you click on it and scroll down to the About section, it still shows the path to the original episode: Media Info /volume1/Public/TV Series/Example/Example - S01E02 - Sally Walks The Dog.mkv Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
Solution GrimReaper 4739 Posted October 30, 2024 Solution Posted October 30, 2024 Which show would that be? Regardless, you need to rename those episodes as per desired (DVD in your case) order, i.e.: Example - S01E01 - Bob Drinks A Beer Example - S01E02 - Tony Goes Surfing Example - S01E03 - Sally Walks The Dog After initial import, metadata will be wrong as Aired order is used by default. When you change "File order" to DVD and Refresh Metadata afterwards, episodes will get correct metadata and you'll get the result you're after.

I'll give that a go and see what happens. Thanks, GrimReaper! The show is Tremors. The 'Aired' order makes no sense whatsoever - in early episodes, the characters reference things that don't happen until later episodes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremors_(TV_series)
GrimReaper 4739 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 If this is the show you're referring to: https://thetvdb.com/series/tremors/seasons/dvd/1 Then yes, above process should produce desired results.
