easez88 16 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Hello, I am having permission denied issues, when attempting to transfer a conversion to its final destination. I believe I have my permission settings correct. To test I changed primary pictures, which I keep with media. I deleted an episode of a tv show through the UI and I manually tried to copy the file to see if it would work. by running: sudo -u emby - cp /var/lib/emby/sync/2/20/7f76125c-a54c-435b-9e96-34a891b668f2.mkv /mnt/media/Movies/Movielocation That also seems to work. So I think emby has access to my files. Any tips on how I can correct this? embyserver (1).txt

I have yes. my media is mounted as a cifs mount with user rw permissions. Emby can write to my media files in other functions such as replacing metadata and deleting media. So far from what I can tell only conversions are failing. As a test I changed permissions on the file to 777 and on the folder with the same result. Edited October 30, 2024 by easez88
Q-Droid 989 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Have you checked the ownership and permissions of directory and file(s) for the specific movie that's failing? Also, LibraryMonitor (RTM) is reporting missing paths at the top of the log (server startup?). Does the storage spin down or sleep? 1

I can look into that, However, you see shortly after the paths are fully mounted the error is permission denied. I just don't understand why. I've confirmed emby user has write permission to the folder with other test.
easez88 16 Posted November 14, 2024 Author Posted November 14, 2024 Additionally, I logged in as the emby user using 'su emby' and was able to copy the file as well.
Solution Q-Droid 989 Posted November 14, 2024 Solution Posted November 14, 2024 You could try the nobrl option for your CIFS mounts. It doesn't hurt anything and it might fix your problem. 1
easez88 16 Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 @LukeYup this was the issue. Adding nobrl to my mounting fixed it. conversions are now successfully moved. . @Q-DroidThank you so much! 2 1
