chowbok 132 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 I have a playlist that I originally created with the smart playlist plugin that I can't get rid of. "Delete" doesn't appear in the dropdown. "Remove from Library" does, but it doesn't do anything when I select it. How do I get rid of this?
Luke 42079 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 So that sounds like a personal playlist that the plugin created assigned to another user? That user should be able to delete it.
chowbok 132 Posted October 28, 2024 Author Posted October 28, 2024 I'm the only user that would have created it, though. And I remember it.
chowbok 132 Posted October 30, 2024 Author Posted October 30, 2024 Any thoughts on this? I'd really like to get rid of it. The metadata manager entry for it points to a nonexistent directory in /var/lib/emby/data/userplaylists/. I'm guessing I'll have to edit a database, which is fine, but I need to be pointed to the right place.

chowbok 132 Posted November 1, 2024 Author Posted November 1, 2024 Here you go. I turned on debug logging and then selected "remove from library" as two different users. embyserver.zip
chowbok 132 Posted November 1, 2024 Author Posted November 1, 2024 Where does it store this information? I opened library.db (read-only) in a sqlite browser but I couldn't find any reference to it.
chowbok 132 Posted November 1, 2024 Author Posted November 1, 2024 Is there maybe a SQL command I can run that will delete *all* playlists? I don't mind if I have to recreate my other ones.
chowbok 132 Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 Can anyone help me? Am I doomed to have this in my playlists forever? There must be something I can do...

The metadata manager entry for it points to a nonexistent directory in /var/lib/emby/data/userplaylists/. Hi, here is something you could try perhaps? If you know the filename of the playlist (e.g. playlist.m3u) then you could possibly find it by searching outside of Emby, through your operating system. E.g. I have a Windows setup, so going into File Explorer and searching will quickly find the playlist file and then the file location can be opened. You may then see the playlist and perhaps any image you have assigned to it. Then go up one level and delete the whole playlist folder (i.e. in Windows). Then go back into Emby and you may possibly see the playlist is still there. From the main Emby Playlist section then Refresh Metadata and the playlist should disappear (I did this from under My Media and the 3 dot menu from the Playlist section) I tried the above test twice and it worked both times (although I did find my playlists were stored under the standard C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data\userplaylists section) Maybe this example will give you some more ideas to try without needing to edit database files??? If this info is too basic for what you need, then you may need more help from some technical Emby gurus! Good luck with getting it sorted out...
chowbok 132 Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 Thanks, but I already tried that. There's no evidence of this at all on the filesystem. Even the path that's listed in the playlist's metadata isn't there.
chowbok 132 Posted November 6, 2024 Author Posted November 6, 2024 @LukeCan you give me any advice on this at all?
Solution chowbok 132 Posted November 7, 2024 Author Solution Posted November 7, 2024 Okay, I found the entry in the MediaItems table in library.db, so I deleted that row and now it's gone. 1
