pi_31415 3 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Hello everybody, I am running Emby (v.4.8.10.0) on a Synology DS220j (latest DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 5). My router is a Fritzbox 7560 to which the DS220j is connected via ethernet (fixed IP). My networtk configuration also contains a raspberri Pi Zero running Pi-Hole. All DNS queries are handled by PI Hole. I use Emby mainly (99%) to stream music files to my Naim Uniti Nova, which I control via the Naim App on my Android phone. My music collection has about 21.000 files in about 400 artist folders (\artist\album_1\track-01), mostly FLAC files, but MP3 and OGG as well. The tags within the files are well maintained. I mostly browse the collection via the album view. A couple of days ago I used the artist view within the Naim App and when clicking on a certain artist I got the message "0 tracks added to playlist". This made me wonder, the behaviour I would have excepted was not to add tracks, but to show all albums belonging to that artist. And I am quite sure that this worked in the past, but like I said I do not use the artist view very often. Next I tried BubbleUpnP on my Android phone to show me the artist view, when I click on an artist there I get the error message "No playable items found". I also tried the Hifi Cast app on my Android phone, here I get the error message "Could not retrieve data from media server: Invalid action (401)" when selecting emby as media server. Then I started my notebook and tried VLC, if I try to use the artist view there, VLC just doesn't load any artists. The album view works on all devices/apps (except Hifi Cast) and I can play music, although skipping songs takes several seconds, which it has never before. Within the Emby webinterface (used via Firefox 131.0.3) the artist view works correctly. I click on an artist and the next page shows me all albums of the artist. What I tried to do so far: - I tried to rescan my music libary, no change in behaviour. - I deleted my music libary and added it again, no change in behaviour. - I updated Emby from v.4.8.8.0 to v.4.8.10.0, no change in behaviour. When I look in the log files I see quite a few DLNA Errors labled "Error processing control request". My guess is they appear when trying to access the artist view or selecting an certain artist in this view. Log files are attached. My next idea was to uninstall emby completely and then reinstall it. Does anybody have an idea what the problem might be and how to fix it? Thanks! embyserver.txt hardware_detection-63865265575.txt
Luke 42077 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Hi, what software is showing that 401 error?

Solution Luke 42077 Posted October 24, 2024 Solution Posted October 24, 2024 Hi, I believe this should be resolved in the 4.9 beta channel if you are willing to switch to that. We are looking into how we can backport the fix to 4.8. Thanks. 1
