Hi. I have an anime which has several seasons. In one season, there is 2 video files. Emby recognized the 1st one but show the 2nd one as additional part under the 1st one. How to fix that? Tried to delete the whole library and rebuilt, still the same.

In Emby, the season displayed like:

Enter the 1st file, the view is:

The folder contains these 2 files is:

These 3 nfo files are also attached here.

Any idea? Thanks a lot.

image.png.b90e8ba611d9e5e667f1bde026ac2fb7.pngIt’s a mixed content library. And all files are NFO described. Naming problem even cannot be ignored with NFO specified?

No that i know of.

With mixed library, naming is even more important.

Let me try to renaming the NFO file first… for seeding reason, original file renaming is out of options..

Just changing the NFO file name and pointing to video files by original_filename wont fix the problem. It seems that Emby list all video files before reading NFO files. Only the NFO file name same as video file will be processed and the original_filename node in NFO is ignored.

The NFO file needs to have the same base name as the media file.

Issue is how the server treats anything named PART 1 thru 9 per file stacking rule.

So you need to modify the naming scheme if they are not actually parts to a single item so ie part one, part two or use capital i instead of 1.

But as a Series you also need to look at organization and naming scheme to be considered TV and not Movie.

Hi, yes this is correct. This may change in future updates, but for the best possible experience I would recommend joining the files together.

Not possible. The part X is some naming rule from the sources. For seeding reason, it cannot be renamed, nor joined. For example: BBC Horizon sometimes separate a topic into several pieces and broadcast them in different months. In this case, they will include part x in the name.

Now I wrote a script to make junction files from those original and place them into the right folder structure with the name obeyed Emby rules so far. Waiting for Emby further improvement from reading NFO...

True but that cannot be Emby issue or concern as it about your personal owned media.  As media needs to be naming in accordance with Emby supported methods listed above.

Episodes: 2

Air in Summer (TV Mini Series 2005) - Episode list - IMDb

So in reality they are not part one and part two.

Or specials

AIR - Unknown - Specials - TheTVDB.com

Air: Specials (2005) — The Movie Database (TMDB)
