Hello all, my sister just contacted me asking why Emby is requiring login on her iPad. According to Emby's device overview the last usage of Emby on the iPad seems to be 5 months ago. In that timeframe nothing really changed besides Emby (beta) server updates.

I am wondering if Emby has some sort of timeout if devices are not used for a (very) long time? Or what else could be the reason for this as it's not the first time happening...
Debug logs can be provided if required, for me nothing obivious is visible.

Hi, so this has been a one time occurrence?

Not quite, it has happened in the past and the only pattern I can find is the long distance between usage of the app.
Everytime that happens a relogin with the credentials needs to be done.

By distance you mean time?

Yepp, sorry no native speaker here. 😅

Is it possible the device is clearing app data after a period of time of not using the app?

No Apple user, I don't know how iOS behaves honstely.

This relogin issue just happened on a different device again: FireTV Stick, with latest AndroidTV app.
Inactivity cannot be the issue here as it is being used regularly.
Can't see any pattern on these two...

And as I said, it's not the first time I am seeing this - see this topic from 2018:

So is that a yes or no?

If you are referring to this...

...then as said I do not know.
I mean afaik other apps on her iPad are not affected by this issue and I don't think my sister goes into settings to change things, she is not techy, just a regular user.

Regarding the FTVS issue I described above, turns out it was a FireOS issue. For some reason it lost everything (not just Emby but all apps) over night and looked like it was reseted randomly.
So, no Emby issue there, remains the iPad though.
