jn441 0 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 While transcoding a movie Emby seems to be aggressive in deleting the temporary files. Even though I am sending regularĀ /Sessions/Playing/ProgressĀ to keep the playback session alive, all of the temporary files disappear when ffmpeg is done outputting them. It's pretty evident for me when transcoding a file that is a minute long...the files are deleted before I can even finish playing them. So my real question is does anyone know the conditions under which Emby deletes temporary files? Thanks
jn441 0 Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 Also I know it's something I'm doing because the web client's session does not get deleted. I believe it could be as simple as not sending the proper session id + play session id combination to the /Session endpoints.
jn441 0 Posted October 10, 2024 Author Posted October 10, 2024 I made sure all requests with PlaySessionId also included the correct SessionId. No difference, as soon as it's done transcoding the files are deleted, even though I am sending progress requests.
Solution jn441 0 Posted October 10, 2024 Author Solution Posted October 10, 2024 I don't believe this is an Emby problem. Apple's media services are crashing because the remuxed HLS segments are just too large and it is getting a memory exception. So I am left with either replacing the video player to direct play, or forcing a lower bandwidth to transcode the video and losing Dolby Vision.
