First Installation on Synology 7.2. Homescreen empty

Hi,

 

i installed the latest Version von emby on my synology server. I scanned my music library (flac-format). I got a filled library, but the home screen from the windows- and the android-app is blank.

 

url for the windows app is: http://serverip:8096/web/index.html#!/home

 

What am I doing wrong?

Can you check your "Home screen" settings.

Can you try ctrl+F5 to force refresh the web ui.

Guess Dev's need logs to see whats going on.

Crtlf5 doesn't so the Trick... Hmmmm... Android Shows the Same blank screen.

Where do I find the Log File?

Hi, have you checked user permissions to ensure your user is granted access to that library?

Well... the user was able to scan the library... and it is my "go-to" user on my server... so, yes.

 

I have attached the log-file... Thanks for the help!

Did you check user permissions though?

And here comes the stupid question.... Which user does have to have access to the lib? Is there an "emby"-user?

Where do I grant access to this user?

Hi dppg3,

The user you are logging in with on the client.

Each and every username that is used to login via a client (including web) has to be setup with permissions on the system. Part of the user set is picking what libraries they have access to.  You can find these user setup screens on the USERS menu in the administration menu.

Hi thanks for the reply. Something on the user screen did the trick... Next challenge: emby connect, via the android app from an external network.... I can get to the app screen "choose server", I can log into the emby connect, my user is connected to emby connect (green icon in the user screen). But after logging in, I am again in the choose server screen. logging into the 192.168.xxxx server does not work. Adding a new server manualy with the remote WAN address from the dashboard tells me: server cannot be reached...

Was it a configuration issue in your Emby remote setup?

Hi,

actually it was the user-setting.... the emby user did not have the rights to access the library... You were right, all along... 🙂
