Hi and thanks for the help in advance.

I am running the following setup:

- Openmediavault 7 server running Emby through docker compose.

I am trying to get my TV tuner usb (Hauppauge 955q) recognized:

services:
  emby:
    image: lscr.io/linuxserver/emby:latest
    container_name: emby
    environment:
      - PUID=1000
      - PGID=100
      - TZ=America/Toronto
    volumes:
      - /srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-6382042f-53da-42b5-8328-2d70a8d49bdd/config:/config
      - /srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-6382042f-53da-42b5-8328-2d70a8d49bdd/media/tv:/data/tvshows
      - /srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-6382042f-53da-42b5-8328-2d70a8d49bdd/media/movies:/data/movies
    ports:
      - 8096:8096
    devices:
      - /dev/dvr:/dev/dvr
    restart: unless-stopped

When I do the above I get no errors.  The trouble is, I go into the server, select Live TV setup and I can't see the tuner.  This works perfectly on Plex.

Is this that issue where I need WinTV on a Windows server or am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks.

Hi, yes that is correct. One way to import it into Emby on Linux would be using TVHeadEnd. Then you could use TVHeadEnd's m3u output feature to import into Emby Server.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Thanks Luke.

I'm running NextPVR into Emby and it is actually pretty good.  My only challenge is that Emby is hardware transcoding all of the streams and the quality is decreased in a 1080i stream.

I haven't used TVHeadEnd because it is a bit of a pain to setup.  Would TVHeadEnd give direct play through Emby or would it still be hardware transcoded?

I don't think it will matter between the two. What Emby app are you playing with?

I'm using the native Xbox app on an Xbox one S. Would the Kodi Embycon app make a difference?

I would say that within a few weeks once our new Xbox app launches, you should see this very much improved. Thanks.
