Emby Android doesn't respect device screen orientation settings

Why isn't Emby's Android app - running on Pixel phone and Samsung tablet - respecting the device's screen orientation settings? When I have auto-rotate set to "off," all Emby TV/video screens are correct except the playback screen, where Emby's video screen shifts with the device orientation, even though I have auto-rotate set to OFF. How can this be fixed?

Emby Android client v. 3.4.20, Emby Windows server v. 4.8.8.0

I imagine you're referring to your device settings here. 

You also need to select your preference in the Emby app, under your user settings, 'Playback' > scroll to the very bottom and choose from: 

- Auto

- Locked to Landscape 

- Use device setting
