I Love to try new things 1 Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Hi all, So, I have dropped Windows 11 and moved to Ubuntu. Ubuntu is install on drive 0. I have a movie folder on a separate drive but installed on the computer (not USB). It was part of windows and still formatted as NTFS. I can access the movie folder and even play movies (with VLC). I gave Emby permissions to read and write to the folder. What I am trying to find out is how to setup the library (trying to find the location ie: /mnt/movie 1) but just can't find instructions on where that drive is located in the linux file system. I am somewhat familiar with Ubuntu but just can't find out what the Emby Library is exactly looking for. Any guidance would be wonderful. Emby instructions show how the locations would look like in Windows (C:\users\Joe\Documents\Movies\) but not in Linux. Thanks again, Greg
I Love to try new things 1 Posted August 29, 2024 Author Posted August 29, 2024 Okay. So I found the folder "/media" and where the Movies 1 drive is located. Now gave Emby Onwership and it now has FULL access to the drive/folder "Movies 1". The drive is named "Movies 1" also. I added this to the Emby Library location link: /media/greg/Movies 1/Movies 1 (didn't work) then tried /media/greg/'Movies 1'/'Movies 1' and didn't work. Any ideas?

HI, what do you mean by "didn't work"? What exactly happened?
Solution I Love to try new things 1 Posted August 29, 2024 Author Solution Posted August 29, 2024 Hi Luke, The Emby error I receive is " The directory '/media/pete/Movies 1/Movies 1/' could not be found." However....I figured out what the problem was....permissions. I gave Emby permissions to access the Drive and Folder, but not the /media/greg folder. I added read/write permissions and now it's working. I am very happy to be off of Windows but I got to say, Windows sure does "work" much easier than Linux. And thank you for responding to my message. Greg 1
