Trying to give emby permission to my external drives

Complete and utter noob at everything linux here, just trying to set up a media server to escape streaming services. Anyways I've been reading forum posts trying to fix my issue of 'The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again.'
So my setup is a das (terramaster d8 hybrid) that has 4 hard drives inside, that is plugged into my mini pc (GMKtek intel n100) which runs linux debian 12 which I've then installed casaos on which I've subsequently put emby on. I thought it might be a file permission issue so I read a forum post related to that and people are getting an entirely different outcome to what I had. Can someone please explain this to me as if I'm a mouth breathing idiot, and be gentle please, I've been at this for hours and I just want this to be done, I have too many holes in my drywall, thanks. If I left anything thing please let me know.

I’ve downloaded the emby application via the search feature on casaos

You need to set the paths in your Emby app on casaos.  It’ll be like /mnt/usb/Movies:Movies for example. First part is your host directory and second part is what it will look like in the Emby docker. I don’t have casa installed atm to screenshot. I just do a docker compose..

the first screenshot shows that I am trying to set the path in emby and its presenting the error, 'The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again.'

You need to do it on CasaOS first. You have to add a path in there. Think of the Emby app as its own entity with casaos. It has no access to anything unless you set it in the configuration in CasaOS.

Is there a forum post that can show me how to do that? I'm unsure of what to look up as it seems what I do find is irrelevant to me.

Change the settings for Emby in CasaOS. Click the 3 dots and select settings. Where you see Volumes is where you edit your storage pasts. Host will be your /mnt/usb and the Container is what that folder will be named in emby.
