Cant login on EMBY app

Hello everyone. I just got Emby - I got the app on my windows computer and I created my library everything is fine. I then download the Emby app for my LG Smart TV - I can't use the app on the TV to log in to my account. It keeps saying I need to insert a pin and an address for emby enter pin code but when I do that I can't get any further. Otherwise, I have to enter the host code manually. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get the app on tv logged in to my user?

When i enter XXX.XXX.X.XX it cant find it :S

Make sure the IP and port matches the address on the server admin dashboard.  If you are using https, you need to add the server name/address with https in front and use the correct port number

Like: : https : // my.emby.server

Yes assuming you have configured https on your server and shows that way on Dashboard.

Have you installed your own Emby Server or trying to connect to some else's?

 

Emby is NOT a media streaming service. We provide no content. Emby is a Personal Media Server platform. You must have your own server installed and your own media (or Live TV tuner).

If this is a server on your same home network, then yes, you can use your server name like https: // myserver.com

Otherwise, just use the address on the Server Dashboard listed as 'In-Home (LAN) access'.  You shouldn't need an invite for that if it is your own server

Can you connect to the server using any other device such as another PC or your phone using a web browser?  @Happy2Play, could this be a Windows firewall issue?

Possible, but first is the network set to Public or Private?

Its weird i downloaded the app on my smart phone - there i can easily see it. Its only on the smart TV I cant login
