Thunder7ga 1 Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 So, I am trying to get the Roku app to default the Live TV to the GUIDE tab by default, instead of PROGRAMS. I set it in the web app on the same account, and it doesnt get picked up on the Roku. It is working on the web after doing that. There doesnt seem to be a setting in the Roku app, as it says to do it in the web app. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Tried logout/back in and that didnt change anything. Any ideas?

Have you tried pressing the "cog" button on the upper right of the screen while in the Live TV library? Alternatively, you can hit the "*" button on your remote.

Yep, but it literaly says anything related to changing the home screen, has to be done via the web app. Which I have done, and works fine in via the web.

You need to do this inside the Live TV library... IOW - go to configuration when you are on the screen you actually wish to configure.
Uuugh 4 Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 So... something is up with the TV guide in Roku. Despite setting three users to Guide in their Home Screen settings, Roku still defaults to Programs. The web app and PC app function correctly and start Live TV in Guide. Troubleshooting steps include restarting the Emby Server restarting the Roku TV switching users switching Live TV Home Screen settings The issue is duplicated on all the Roku boxes in my home. Emby Server v4.8.10.0 on Win 11 Thoughts? Thanks!

The default tab in a library isn't a home screen setting. While in the Roku app, enter your Live TV library. Now press the "*" button (or navigate to the cog upper right and click it). Select, "Set default tab".
Tampa8 0 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 (edited) Same question. I have no Default Tab in settings on my Roku streaming stick 4K. Under Settings/Display nothing relating to that. (Language, Time, Backdrops, enhanced screen etc) but nothing to pick a tap to open to. To customize the homescreen I too only have the option to go to the Server to do it. Note, there also is no setting in Google TV either - But on the server settings there is a setting to make the Guide the default, and that does work for Google TV. That is the only place I can find that controls what happens when you open Emby, works for Google TV has no effect for Roku. I may be overlooking something of course... Other server settings like color, background etc all work on both Google TV and Roku. Edited May 28 by Tampa8
Tampa8 0 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 (edited) Update - The place where there is a setting (Does not work however) in the Roku app itself isn't in the Live Library. If you use the star in the live library all it does is bring you to the same setting as if went to the setting cog. However Across the top are several tabs, Programs, guide, tags, channels series...If you are on the Guide tap and hit the star, you do get a setting for default. However it does not open to Guide when you start Emby, what it does is have the Guide tab highlighted already and you click to open. Better than before, not quite actually opening the guide on start up... Edited May 28 by Tampa8

Very much appreciate the reply, I see that is true for the Roku it's the tab that is first and highlighted, not opening the guide or going to a live channel.. On Google Play I can have it set not to go to the homescreen, and go directly to a channel, with puts me in the guide...
