pan26 6 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 If you select Sign Out on Emby on Amazon Fire TV Stick, Emby itself will close. I'm expecting to be redirected to the login screen, but is it correct to exit?

Unless you've signed into a device that isn't your own, there isn't any real reason to 'Sign out' What are you actually trying to achieve?
pan26 6 Posted August 10, 2024 Author Posted August 10, 2024 Each family member has an account, and when my wife wants to watch it, I want to log in with her account. Is this different from normal usage?

Is this different from normal usage? If you're using the "TV" app, there is an option to ask which user at each app start. If you're using the standard app (which also runs on TV devices) that option doesn't yet exist, but you can just quickly switch logged in users with top or sidebar menu. Don't specifically "log out" any user otherwise you won't be able to easily switch. Hope that makes sense.

Please do this under "Startup Behavior" in "Startup Settings". After logging out and restarting, I was successfully taken to the login screen. Of course, you will need to enter your password when logging in. 52 minutes ago, seanbuff said: If you're using the standard app (which also runs on TV devices) that option doesn't yet exist, but you can just quickly switch logged in users with top or sidebar menu. In that case, switching to my wife's profile had no effect. Am I misunderstanding something? I'm sorry.

You simply need to login each user account once, then you can switch between them without having to authenticate again. Do not use the option "Sign Out", just exit the app normally. 47 minutes ago, pan26 said: I had no idea what this meant. I meant there are two different apps available, one is ""Emby for Fire TV" and the other is just "Emby", search for the latter. Give user switching a go in that app.

Give user switching a go in that app. That's what you meant. I thought it was just "Emby for Fire TV". Indeed, when I installed and operated "Emby", I was able to confirm that it was possible to switch users as explained. Thanks so much. Have a nice day.

For the Fire TV app, assuming the device is local - you should also ensure this option is unchecked on the user profile so that users are displayed at startup
