JonF 1 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Windows 11 22H2, Emby 4.8.8.0, library on an external USB3 disk. I have three seasons of a favorite TV show of mine in my library. Season 4 26 episodes, season 5 24 episodes, season 6 1 episode. All encoded mp4/aac in FFMpeg, H264 (libx264/libfdk-aac). Emy will not add more than one show in season 5 (the first episode). Period.I've scanned the season, I've scanned the show. I've scanned the entire library. I've deleted end re-created the library. Here's where it gets weird. I was viewing the show on the library disk in Q-dir, three season's folders showing. By mistake I tapped a key, I have no idea which except it was my left hand, and Season 4 disappeared. Gone. Not in the Recycle Bin. Not there in File explorer. I opened season 4 in Emby and it couldn't access the files, and Emby deleted season 4. Hours of season 4 DVD ripping, re-encoding larger and without borders in FFMPeg, locating and and entering metadata, gone. I noticed the green number of episodes on season 5 was 24. opened season 5 in Emby and all the season 5 episodes were there!!! In desperation I pressed Control-Z in Q-dir a few times and, thank God, season 4 reappeared. In Q-Dir and in File Explorer and in Emby. And, of course, all but one episode disappeared from season 5. How can I force Emby to see those episodes?
pwhodges 2012 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Show us the exact folder and file names for that series - from your description it seems likely to be down to some naming issue. Paul
Luke 42080 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 HI there, yes, how are your files named and organized?
JonF 1 Posted August 3, 2024 Author Posted August 3, 2024 ;FFMETADATA1 major_brand=isom minor_version=512 compatible_brands=isomiso2avc1mp41 artist=Patrick Macnee, Diana Rigg comment=The Avengers (http://theavengers.tv/forever/guide.htm) episodes with Emma Peel. date=1967-01-28 network=ITV UK-wide television network show=The Avengers season_number=5 DATE_RECORDED=1966-11 Actors=John Steed \ Patrick Macnee \ Emma Peel \ Diana Rigg \ title=The Avengers - 505E01 - From Venus with Love episode_id=From Venus with Love episode_sort=1 description=Astronomers studying the planet Venus are being killed, by what appears to be a death-ray, as Steed and Mrs Peel investigate reports of an invasion from space. synopsis=Steed is Shot Full of Holes \ Emma Sees Stars! \ \ Produced: October/November 1966 \ UK Premiere (London, Season 5): 13 January 1967 \ US Premiere (New York, Season 2): 20 January 1967 \ \ Amateur astronomers are falling prey to an odd affliction: They apparently die of sudden advanced age. All of them have been observing Venus, and according to a member of the British Venusian Society, Earth is being invaded by Venusians! But the clues point to something a little more down-to-earth. \ \ Considering the era and genre of the program, this episode features some surprisingly good special effects, such as the laser burning its way through eye charts toward Emma's head—although there are some pretty lame effects as well, such as spray-on snow used to suggest "bleaching." Favorite guest Philip Locke as Dr. Primble, the nearly-blind eye doctor, makes a memorable oddball, and his threat on Emma near the end is spine-tingling. The lasers also make a wild sound, part of which is actually a bullet ricochet played in reverse. \ \ The color series marks the beginning of a new-style tag, usually comprised of some witty exchange in Emma's apartment. Personally, I preferred the "riding off into the sunset" tags. It also marks the start of the "Mrs. Peel, We're Needed" teasers. Rating=255 genre=Science Fiction encoder=Lavf61.5.101
Solution GrimReaper 4740 Posted August 3, 2024 Solution Posted August 3, 2024 24 minutes ago, JonF said: A naming issue seems unlikely... Those episodes appear to be named 505Exx instead of S05Exx. Rename, rescan. 1 1
JonF 1 Posted August 4, 2024 Author Posted August 4, 2024 Damn, you're right! How did that happen? But thank you. 1
