Emby Theater: some new problems with it in linux :(

yeah sure, hope it will be support without any changes in codes like the electron ones, because it's best addition for those with handheld UMPC owner out there, by adding emby on their handheld

tsukimi seems to be a good client for emby/jellyfin.

I'm running it while I wait for a new Emby Theater to be usable on my Linux Mint.

Hi @vincenand @Luke, another (paying) Linux user here...any update on when the Emby Theater app will be updated?  I'm using emby-theater-deb_3.0.21_amd64 and the total lack of on-screen display and controls makes this application largely useless given the premise (i.e., a media player).  I've seen several posts that essentially imply "any minute now," but nothing concrete in several months.

Should I use an older version?  If so, where would I get it?

No, I have not tried it due to the telemetry disclaimer.  I have another system on which I could potentially test the beta version, I might give that a shot in the future (time permitting). 

I'm glad to see that progress is being made, but I feel compelled to point out that this thread is nearing two years old without either a resolution or an estimate for when a resolution will be offered.  I do understand that your largest customer base is probably not Linux users (or at least, perhaps not for this particular product in your lineup), but this is a sufficiently lingering issue that could have been dealt with sooner by at least alleviating the regression of the on-screen controls. 

Thank you all for your work, I think that overall Emby is an impressive product and the premier tier is worth it.

Just migrated over to Linux Mint but seems this issue still hasn't been fixed for 2 years??  :(

It was never addressed and I suspect it will never be.

Instead they released a Linux client which is still in beta stage. It does solve the issue discussed in this thread and, while still buggy, it is fairly functional
