nospotify 184 Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 Play a video in Emby via Web browser, plays fine. Play same video via Chromecast Emby app and the video is crazily, irregularly pixelated (pixelates for a few seconds, snaps back to 'normal' for a few seconds, then irregularly pixelates again). For reasons I don't understand, FFMPEG logs are generated when playing via Web browser, but not when playing via Chromecast Emby app. What's happening and how can it be fixed? All logs attached, along with this image to show pixelation: embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-0b565ff6-c0a1-4d60-b70c-c29f765c7163_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-05dfcebe-78ed-470f-ba47-0b407e10f0b8_1.txt

AFAIR last attempt of AndroidTV app tackling XviD files was several months ago. Two things you might try: 1) Select "Playback correction" twice (OSD cog menu) during your Chromecast playback, that should trigger transcoding and likely uninterrupted playback as in Web app 2) Download standard Android app from your Store (or sideload form here), see how does that compare
nospotify 184 Posted July 27, 2024 Author Posted July 27, 2024 Thanks @GrimReaper- I had no idea that 'button' existed - it forced transcoding and things play fine now - thanks! 1
