V4.1.24 seems to be ignoring 'remember me' setting

I keep 'remember me' set to 'no' to trigger a pin input on certain users every time they're selected. This has recently stopped working, and Emby on Roku is now only asking for pins if I explicitly sign out of the app.

I've tried toggling the setting and restarting the app, but I can't seem to get it to stop remembering me.

@roakuI cannot get this to reproduce on the Roku Beta app (v4.1 build 24). What version of the Roku app are you using?

App info (* button) says 4.1 build 24.

When I launch app and select server, I get the user selection screen as expected.

What I don't get anymore, though, is the pin entry screen for pin protected users. Anyone can choose any user now.

As a comparison, I am still getting the pin screen on my Shield for the protected users.

When you first login one of those users, there is a question that pops up asking if you want to enforce the PIN. Did you say "yes"?

I haven't changed anything since the login security update, however many months ago. Whatever steps I took at that time allowed me to keep using the PINs like I had before the update.

I had the PIN screen up until a few weeks ago and haven't changed any user profile settings or seen any new prompts asking me to verify/change existing settings.

I just tried uninstalling/reinstalling and the behavior is the same with reinitialized client settings.

When I select a pin protected user for the first time, I get the pin prompt. After that, user switching can occur without pin prompting unless I explicitly sign out.

Closing and reopening no longer triggers the pin prompt when selecting a protected user from the sign in screen.

Switching to an unprotected user and back to a protected one no longer triggers the pin prompt.

Exactly how are you defining this?  Because, this has totally changed:

Ya, sorry, I'm not trying to be elusive, I just don't remember.

Edit: Figured out a solution in the next post.

Another way to put this is that, today, after a fresh reinstall of the Roku app, I am not able to find a way to configure the app to require a PIN entry for specific users whenever that user is selected beyond the first sign in (which is accepting a PIN as opposed to full password). I don't see any screen where I can configure a user to have a PIN entry requirement. Can you describe how to get to this screen?

Ok @ebr@speechlesI've figured out what was going on, or at least a solution.

The 'pins' for my two protected users were set/accepted as the actual passwords on initial login and weren't being treated as pins. I don't specifically recall setting the pins as passwords myself, but it's possible, since I have disabled remote Emby access through the server and router and trust my very small number of users. So if that was needed at one point in time to achieve the user switching+pin experience I was looking for, I would have done it.

I changed the passwords and re-set the pins, now the Roku app is behaving as desired (I was able to see the prompt to enable pin protection and enabled it).

So, it seems the Roku app wasn't giving me the pin option because I didn't have pins for these users, just pin-like passwords.

Also, updating the password required new login on Emby Android App on my Shield (as it should).

Entering the new, updated password on login led to a new PIN screen that I hadn't actually seen before.

So more evidence that I was achieving a pin style experience via the password and that is what recently stopped being possible on the Roku app, and I mistakenly thought I had already 'upgraded' to the new client login scheme.
