EMP19E 2 Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 For the life of me I can't figure it out what's going on here. I know from reading previous posts that this issue is usually due to a naming issue or some sort permission issue that usually prevents media from being recognized from but in my case all my media popped up right away with the exception of anything from my TV library. Some of the steps I have tried are completely removing the TV Shows from "My Media" and re-adding them, Renaming episodes, Downloading new episodes. Strangely I took a documentary that was in my "TV" folder and moved it into my "Movies" folder and Emby recognized it right away when I goto the TV folder and look into the actual folder tab all of my series folders appear but are empty. System setup is as follows Dell r730xd running the Latest TrueNAS
Luke 42077 Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? How are your files named and organized?

Luke 42077 Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 OK and why exactly do you think it's not recognized?
EMP19E 2 Posted July 18, 2024 Author Posted July 18, 2024 The naming of the vast majority of my media follows the same basic format and movies have no issue anything in my TV folder does not appear in my dashboard.
Luke 42077 Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 How many Emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths are added to each one?

I have Three at the Moment Tv Music Movies, the Folders paths are named the same on my system. As a sort of sanity check I also installed JellyFin gave it the same permissions as Emby has and all my media popped up right away.
Solution Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 20, 2024 Solution Posted July 20, 2024 (edited) Your issue is overlapping libraries ie your Music library is parent and absorbs the other child paths. I would expect issue in log and possibly removal of all libraries as there is now is most likely a database conflict or may generate one removing libraries. Emby potentially needs a warning or not allow child library paths to be created. Edited July 20, 2024 by Happy2Play

All good now after removing and re-adding the libraries. 1
