Dariusz 25 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 So I can't figure out what is causing the transcoding to be triggered.. On my old server I had exact same settings and this never happened.. I checked and I do not have limits set, except for one user which is set to 30Mbps which is good for direct streaming most content.. looks like video keeps being transcoded down to 5 Mbps if i read it right.. I have attached the transcode logs as well as i my setup.. TrueNAS Core 13 and video card is an AMD RX480.. I would imagine that this card should be sufficient, but for some reason even when transcoding is running, it's very slow, almost like no hardware transcoding is done.. Any suggestion on why transcoding might be getting triggered would be appreciated.. thank you ffmpeg-transcode-f175c796-2b8f-4fc6-b3a2-e04ee52253ec_1.txt embyserver (1).txt
Luke 42077 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Hi, you've set an upper limit on the server for that user, but it looks like they've set an even lower quality setting from within the app. I would ask them to try raising it.

The limit i set for them should show as 30Mbps.. now, i looked at the emby app and i do not see an option to set a limit within it.. just trying to figure out how i can let the user know where this option is located.

Don't know all apps default fallback but will guess Auto being to conservative at 5Mbps. There should be Playback/Quality setting in the AndroidTv app. 2024-06-26 13:47:01.026 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectPlay limit: media bitrate: 7397066, max bitrate: 4978384 2024-06-26 13:47:01.026 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectStream limit: media bitrate: 7397066, max bitrate: 4978384 2024-06-26 13:47:01.026 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectPlay limit: media bitrate: 7397066, max bitrate: 4978384 2024-06-26 13:47:01.026 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectStream limit: media bitrate: 7397066, max bitrate: 4978384 2024-06-26 13:47:01.026 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectPlay limit: media bitrate: 7397066, max bitrate: 4978384 2024-06-26 13:47:01.026 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectStream limit: media bitrate: 7397066, max bitrate: 4978384 1

It is the quality setting under playback settings. 1
