Camerongraves 3 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Hi there, any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated! I'm currently running Emby on my Terramaster. It was working great up until about a week ago when any new content I'd downloaded started giving me this error. Quote Playback Error No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details. I attached the server logs, as well as a log from a recent download I'd tried to play that gave me this error. Again, everything from about a week ago will still play. Thanks in advance! embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-2e32a98f-a690-4563-a918-7ae52a8254b4_1.txt
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Looks like you have a permissions issue. 20:50:44.385 /home/Cam/Downloads/radarr/BlackBerry (2023)/BlackBerry.2023.BluRay.1080p.DTS-HD.MA.5.1.AVC.REMUX-FraMeSToR.mkv: Permission denied 1

What I'm struggling with is why or how to fix it. I checked user groups in the control panel of the Terramaster OS and Emby has Read/Write permissions across the board. I'm really confuddled as to why previous content has perms but new stuff doesnt. Edited June 26, 2024 by Camerongraves
Solution Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 26, 2024 Solution Posted June 26, 2024 I can only guess when the media is copied to that location it is not inheriting folder permissions. But not a Linux person. I guess you could compare permission to another file but will guess the entire folder will have its permissions reset. Don't know if this will help. 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 But to elaborate on the issue since Emby cannot Probe the file for Media Info it has no idea how to play it. Camerongraves 3 Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 Happy you are a beautiful genius and I thank you for your precise and quick help. This is great. I found that changing perms in the control panel did not resolve it. Changing folder perms didn't work either. HOWEVER by manually changing the perms of the file itself I was able to play it. So you are correct that it is not inheriting the folder perms upon being moved. Which was happening as a result of qBittorrent downloading to one location and Radarr moving it to another. I'll have to look into this later to see if there's an easier solution to mass-updating the new file, but I should be able to fix this. Thanks again! 1
Camerongraves 3 Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 BTW: If anyone else runs into this issue: Turns out it is exactly as Happy predicted and it had to do with files not inheriting the folders permissions when Sonarr/Radarr were moving it to the 'media folder'. I had to go under Control Panel ->Applications and ensure Radarr and Sonarr had Read/Write perms. This appears to have resolved the issue with future downloads not being readable and thus giving playback errors. 1 1
