Dariusz 25 Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Hello, I am currently in the process of moving the emby server from my Asustor NAS to a TrueNAS box.. when restoring the config, there is an option to "restore server ID".. what exactly would the benefit be in restoring the server ID or with starting a new server ID? I will not be using the old server once this new one is setup.. thank you
Luke 42077 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Hi, does the help text underneath the option not sufficiently why you would or wouldn't enable that?

I understand it states that if you are using multiple instances of emby server, you should choose not to keep the server ID on the new machine.. I just wonder what is the actual server ID? is it just the name of the server or something stored in a config file we don't see? Like i said, i won't be using my old emby server after i do the import, so I was going to keep the server ID.. however I just wanted to see if there was any other benefit to keeping the ID vs not keeping the ID.. It is the id that make your server different then everyone elses. Pretty sure Connect uses the serverid also. 1
