Request for feature: Remove from "Continue Watching"

It would be super useful to have the option to "Remove from Continua Watching" in the Emby clients, similar to what Netflix has. I find that the "Continue Watching" section gets fredquently polluted by shows that has already been watched, if someone for whatever reason just plays a bit of an already watched episode or movie. It's really a pain to have to play and fast forward to the end such episodes/movies in order to remove them frfom "Continue Watching", so an expl, isit option to do that would be so much better. Please consider, this should be an easy thing to implement. :)

There already is the option in many, if not all clients.

Just right-click, or long-press, the item and select "Remove from Continue Watching".

Hi.  Yes, this already exists.  Please let us know if you still cannot find it.

You are both totally right of course. I've been using Emby since long before Emby, but I mainly use a Kodi plugin these days. And the option is not there, so I assumed it does not exist, since I didn't remember seeing in any other client either. And we all know how assuming usually ends. :)

After checking some more, this option is not available in the Android version of the Emby client. I mostly use Emby on my Android TV nowadays, that's why I missed this option. Could this please be added to the Android (TV) client?

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

Have you scrolled to the bottom of the list?

Also, are you using to the Android TV (ATV) app, or the Universal Android app?

They are different, but both have this option available.

Long press the select button on the item you wish to remove.

Thanks, yes "Long press" was the solution, I expected to find it under the "..." menu, but now I know better.

BTW I'm using the Emby for for Android TV version, I find that to work better on my Android TV than the "universal" app. It can finally stream all my content, including x265 and live tv, with no stuttering or delays. So I'll stick with what is working (for me).

I wanted to append to this post, I believe I found a bug. On the LG 1.0.44 app, the ability to remove from the Continue Watching queue does not appear to be in the long press menu when you have your layout set as Horizontal. When I switch back to vertical, the option reappears.

Would someone with a difference client please check that? If this is specific to the LG app, I will move this post to the appropriate subforum.

Kodi has the same feature but they call it "reset resume position".

That's "native Kodi", isn't it? Does not help much when I'm using the Emby plugin in Kodi, unless I'm missing something.

Did you try it? I’m using the Emby for Kodi Next Gen plugin and it definitely works with that. About 10 - 15 seconds after choosing “Reset resume position” from the context menu the item disappears from “Continue watching”. I believe the creators of the plug-in used Kodi’s native feature as the hook to communicate with Emby.

I’m not sure if it works with the EmbyCon plugin. I’m not using that one at the moment, but I used to and seem to remember it working with that too.

I was VERY excited to see this option on my 4k Firestick, and equally disappointed to see that it doesn't work. When following the steps above, and series continue to show up in continue watching. Just passing that info along.

Hi.  Are you continuing to watch episodes from that series?  Watching another episode will add it back to Continue Watching.

Ah, I misunderstood. I have seen multiple requests on this forum to have the ability to remove series from the continue watching list for good. I didn't realize all this does is remove it until you watch it again. In that case, I'm still disappointed that this function hasn't been added yet.
