m1stertim 2 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 I've been having a sign-in issue where emby (both localhost:8096 in chrome browser and android app not on the local network) will tell me that my username or password is incorrect, even though it's not, but if i force quit the app or close and re-open the tab, it turns out that i am actually logged in successfully. I *suspect* that this is due to the fact that my emby connect "email address" is actually a username (m1stertim), and that some update to emby, when it changed the "username or email address" language to just "email address," is registering the username as incorrect without an @ in it. however, when I attempt to change my username to my email address in the emby server settings, it says this username is already attached to another account - which it isn't. what do i do? embyserver.txt

Hi. Instead of changing it directly, try blanking it out and saving and then entering the proper address and saving again.

I was apprehensive about this as first, as I'm the admin, and I didn't want to get accidentally locked out of my admin account, but then I realised I can create a hidden, non-connected admin account to get around that. After doing this (which was successful), logging out and back in with my emby connect email and password was immediately successful in both situations above where it failed. thanks! 1
