RussMcFall 0 Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 For a TV series I set the "Emby > Edit Images > Logo, Thumb, Banner." Images all shortly clear later. Where do I save the images so they stay. In what folder? Thank you for your help Russ
Luke 42080 Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Hi there, this shouldn't happen. Please attach the emby server log from when this happened: How to Report a Problem Thanks.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Depends on your library settings on where they are saved, plus there is a permissions factor also. But would need to see the server log for a specific example as dev mentioned the fallback location if can save with media is chosen should maintain the images.
RussMcFall 0 Posted May 30, 2024 Author Posted May 30, 2024 for my test I reloaded the images (.jpg). Which was at 05/29/2024 17:40. The next morning at 05/30/2024 0610 I checked and the images I loaded were still there. I then watched an episode of the tv series. AFTER the episode was over i checked and the images were missing. I have attached the log file. embyserver.txt
visproduction 315 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Many poster, episode and artist / actor images are quite large. To appear on the page they are reduced in size and quality to fit. Try closing all browsers, opening a fresh single browser and go to the page. If the images load better, you are dealing a heavy load on the browser due to multiple other pages being open. Try connecting directly by Ethernet to the server and not use Wifi and see if the images load better. Try reducing the size of the poster images. It's questionable why you would need a poster original resolution of 2000 x 3000 pixels for every image that gets reduced to a poster inside a media page.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 (edited) Need a specific example but do not see anything in the log showing a image was removed. You have the log when you added the image as it would be in the log before the one posted as logs rollover at midnight? Edited May 30, 2024 by Happy2Play
RussMcFall 0 Posted May 30, 2024 Author Posted May 30, 2024 On this test I found new small images and loaded them about 15:00. Then a few minutes later i watched an episode. Once the episode completed the images were missing. Here is the log covering that entire time. From beginning to end was about 45 minutes. embyserver (1).txt
Happy2Play 9781 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Debug logging will show addtional info, but I am not seeing images deleted after playback at least in the log. 1514ish shows logo, thumb, banner. Looks like thumb was deleted and readded. 2024-05-30 15:14:15.454 Info Server: http/1.1 POST http://localhost:8096/emby/Items/114607/Images/Logo?X-Emby-Client=Emby Web&X-Emby-Device-Name=Microsoft Edge Windows&X-Emby-Device-Id=c17f0c22-a08b-4d21-a200-eb6f6986c297&X-Emby-Client-Version=4.8.7.0&X-Emby-Token=x_secret5_x&X-Emby-Language=en-us. Luke 42080 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Hi, can you please temporarily enable debug logging in the logs section, then restart the server, repeat the problem, and then attach the debug log? Thanks.
RussMcFall 0 Posted May 31, 2024 Author Posted May 31, 2024 I temporarily enable debug logging in the logs section, then restart the server, repeated the problem, and then attached the debug log? Time from beginning to end was 05:37pm - 06:08pm. Thank you for your help. embyserver (2).txt

Luke 42080 Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 Hi, maybe you have other software that is deleting the image files?
RussMcFall 0 Posted June 2, 2024 Author Posted June 2, 2024 The image files themselves are not deleted from the PC. They are just removed from the emby tv show. I have attached a short video (less than 2 minutes) showing the playing of an episode where at the end the images are removed from emby, not the PC. https://wetransfer.com/downloads/73a56fd3d9e510aa508f4b83fcaa7bb720240602104930/edfd8ebb85a751d85ae8faebc072be4020240602104930/3d3e30
Solution crusher11 1101 Posted June 2, 2024 Solution Posted June 2, 2024 You're adding the images to the episode, not to the show. Once the episode finishes, the next episode appears in Continue Watching, and doesn't have the images because you never added them to that episode, only to the previous episode. 1
RussMcFall 0 Posted June 2, 2024 Author Posted June 2, 2024 You are great, thank you. All my fault. Looking good.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Yes as crusher mentioned. But what exactly are trying to do? As those images should be at show level and inherited to episode level.
