Fl0ppy 3 Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Hello everyone, I am writting this post because I have a small problem with my current tv show (Dr. house). In France, we have 22 episodes for the season 6 (the first one was split in half). The cool thing is that on TMDB (id: 1408) we have all the 22 episodes displayed. Even though I manually "identify" my tv show by the TMDB id, it stays at 21 episodes. I think the problem may come from the identification process, because on IMDB (id: tt0412142) and on TVDB (id: 73255), both show 21 episodes. I can still watch this serie on my laptop to get all the 22 episodes, but it would be better directly on my tv with emby on. I have attached pictures to show my folder, the steps I do and the result on Emby Hope to hear from you soon. Regards,
pgriffith 88 Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 So, S06E01-Broken was split into 2 episodes, is the second half now S06E02? Does this mean they are both 22 minute episodes, all my season 6 episodes are showing as 42-44 min episodes. If that is indeed the case, could you not join episodes 1 & 2 together and then rename the other files? I just used MKVToolNix to join Episode 1 & 2 as a test, took like 30 secs (it doesn't have to re-encode it.) 1
Happy2Play 9782 Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Yes as there are only 21 episodes in Aired order while DVD order has 22. So you will need to compare all seasons of you have DVD order or Aired and possibly change display order to DVD assuming TVDB is your first metadata provider. Or modify the files you have as mentioned above.
Fl0ppy 3 Posted May 16, 2024 Author Posted May 16, 2024 Well, I think that it was initially a big episode like 1+hour long and they decided to break it apart. So I have two episodes of 45 minutes each. (22 episodes of 45 minutes in total). And when I watch an episode on Emby (the forth for example), it shows me the fifth. The french names for the episodes 1 and 2 are "Toucher le fond ..." and "... et refaire surface" But on IMDB and TVDB, it is only one episode named "Toucher le fond...et refaire surface" However, it still has a good naming on tmdb (see picture)

What is your metadata provider order for the library as this is deceiving as that id will be queried per provider not spefically said provider. Just now, Fl0ppy said: Oh, I see now, thanks. Note this applies to the entire series not that specific season so you need to verify if all seasons are as they appear on provider.

My order for the tv shows is : tmdb > tvdb > imdb But I'll check inside the metada
tedfroop21 86 Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 What he means is, if you go to TheTVDB, and lookup a show there are a number of options for how the show is organized. IE Broadcast order, DVD Order, Production order etc. Figure out which order your shows are in by clicking on the tabs named something like Aired DVD Absolute Order Production Order and finding the one that matches. Then, logged in as an Emby user with admin ability, open Manage Emby Server. On the left menu go to Metadata Manager under Advanced. Go to TV Shows, find your show and click on the show name. The fifth item down on the right window will be File Order. Change the file order on that line so it matches theTVDB file order listing that is the same as how your files are ordered. And like magic, all your episodes will be numbered and named correctly
