Filtering Audiobooks by unplayed is no longer possible

At the beginning of the year, I noticed that filtering Audiobooks (and Music) was no longer possible by played status. So I used the website to filter my Audiobooks to decide what to hear next. Recently I did an update and now this filter option is gone on the website as well.

I would like to have an option to only show books which are unplayed.

In 4.7 you had the filter option for PlayState.

From an Audiobook standpoint 4.7

This option is hide and not functional in 4.8+

As for Music it is there for Songs.  It would wrongly appear on Albums in 4.7.  But at the same time there really is no status for Music at least visible one.

It is exactly how Happy2Play described it (Thanks for that).

As the Image shows below the Playstate filter option is no longer available.
I use Emby Server for Docker Version 4.8.3.0.

Hi,

I tested the 4.9.0.18 beta version and was happy to seean shot  that the filter option for audiobooks is now available again. I want to thank you for the hard work and the quick response to this problem.

I noticed an edge case with the filter. If I have an audiobook where all tracks are marked with played, but the book it self is not marked as played it does not appear when filtering for unplayed or played books. The book is only visible when the filter is set to all. I have are rkd  attached a screenshot of a book in this state. It alsoes does not get listed if I mark the book as played and all  tracks as unplayed.

My opinion is, that it should filter by the state of the audio book itself and not consider the tracks it contains. My expectation would be if I filter by played state I only see books with/without a green check mark. I like the current behavior where the played status is not linked to the containing titles (not like tv series where the season gets marked played as soon all episodes are marked played). I am listening to audiobook while trying to sleep. Because of this, the titles often get marked all as played when I'm sleeping. But that is only my preference.

Again big thanks and if there are any questions I'm happy to answer them.

The book itself doesn't have a stored watch state, just live tv series don't either. the state is always determined by that of the episodes.

however i do see some issues with audiobooks compared to tv series, so I'm looking into those. Thanks.
