Emby doesn't do what other apps do. (NVIDIA shield) Features of the OS

When I remove my Sony headphones, YouTube pauses, other functions of the headphones also work on youtube, stop, start, skip etc.. I've noticed Emby doesn't seem utilise these features in Android TV. Another thing I have noticed is Google Nest Hub can't turn off a device if Emby is open. 

What would this be?

This worked thanks. I side loaded the app in the link there and it's actually a bit better than the native android tv version. When I take my headphones off the playback pauses. Why does this app function better?
