Force Removal of "Live TV" Library

I can't get rid of the "Live TV" library. How can I "force" remove this library? Thank you.

Details
- I've never used Emby's "Live TV" feature.
- I have (3) plugins installed:
    - MovieDb (1.7.4.0)
    - Open Subtitles (1.0.53.0)
    - TheAudioDb (1.0.18.0)
- I migrated some database files, so that might be related.
- In the Server > Live TV menu, HD Homerun shows up as a source.
    - I'm not sure if this is related or what HD Homerun is; I've never used it.
- I've tried to install various "Live TV" plugins, restart the server, uninstall the plugins, and finally restart again. However, this does not resolve the issue.

Sounds like you have it configured.

But should be per user setting also.

I don't. I never have.

I'm trying to disable/remove "Live TV", not hide it.

Might be the but that came in 4.8 but thought was fixed in 4.8.1.0.

What happens when you try to remove via Library?

Does it have a image?  If so what happens when you delete it?

If you're talking about browsing to Server > Library, "Live TV" doesn't show there. It's only displayed on the home screen.

I don't know what your attached image above is suppose to mean but on a new install no configured Live TV does not show library so I can only guess you have a database glitch and will have to play in your the DB to remove the library or hide it per user settings.

is your livetv unconfigured?

Does the library url look like this?

http://localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/livetv?serverId=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If anyone else runs into this issue, please let me know how you fixed it. It sounds like a known bug

I'll keep tinkering with it. If I'm able to remove "Live TV" I'll report back.

For anyone dealing with this issue, I solved it by editing library.db. "Live TV" is gone! Here's the command I used:

DELETE FROM MediaItems WHERE Name == 'Live TV'

Same issue here with latest version.
Have unchecked live Tv for every user and it's not gone.

Please fix.

@Lukethx for looking into this.
Ps.: back in the days i had it enabled, maybe there was some left over in the db.
I think emby should clean all references when you diable the function (maybe with an question asking to delete all data).

Also removed the "Live TV" named MediaItems from the DB, but it was a pain because it had constrints to other tables.
But after i found those i yould remove them and "Live TV" is gone.

thx

Where and how can I drop this query. I see only DB files in config folder...

Stop emby

Backup DB Files!

Use "DB Browser for SQLite" and open the DB file.

Drop your query.

Assuming the default location of the DB:

sudo systemctl stop emby-server.service
sudo cp -v "/var/lib/emby/data/library.db" "library.db.backup"
sudo sqlite3 "/var/lib/emby/data/library.db" "DELETE FROM MediaItems WHERE Name == 'Live TV'"
sudo systemctl start emby-server.service

Thanks! The libraries that have been automatically created after adding m3u file are now empty. But still I have the entries in navigation under "My media" (translated by me from DE "Meine Medien"). The two libraries show in the list next to movies, series, books, music.

How can I delete those two items?

Sorry, now after refreshing browser cache these entries are also gone. Or there have been a task run in the background. Nevertheless, its done. Many thanks!

This sounds like a different issue.

I'd check Settings > Library to see if the libraries are visible there.
If they are visible, you can delete them there (hover over the library, click the three dot menu).
If they aren't visible,  I would start a new thread. Be sure to include more information and screenshots.

Yes, you are right. I have updated my previous comment. All good now :)

Hi, what exactly have you done? Can you please describe your issue in more detail? Thanks.

People want an option to delete/purge all TV data If tv was used before and now it won't.

There is the "Live TV" menu entry which you can't get rid of it in the GUI. You have to Todo some SQL delete to get rid of it.

A feature in the GUI to force remove the TV data and Live TV entry would be nice!

Hi, simply remove your tuner sources from live tv setup. Then as soon as the guide data refresh completes, it should be gone.

I have no tuners setup. But the issue others facing now, I had a year back then.

I had to do this as well.

First BACK UP YOUR DATABASE!!!!!!!
Then I used DB Browser for SQLite, and went to the Brows data tab to find/filter the ItemIDs that had the "Name" "Live TV", copy/take not of all ItemIds, and after setting Foreign Keys to Off/False via the "Edit Pragmas" tab and saving, I deleted those records.

In my case it was "2, 3, 1050094", then ran the following in the Execute SQL Tab, replace "(2, 3, 1050094)" with the IDs you found in the same format.

DELETE FROM MediaStreams2 WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM AncestorIds2 WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094) OR AncestorId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM ListItems WHERE ListId IN (2, 3, 1050094) OR ListItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM Chapters3 WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM SyncJobItems2 WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM ImportedCollections WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM ItemExtradata WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM UserItemShares WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM ItemLinks2 WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094) OR LinkedId IN (2, 3, 1050094);
DELETE FROM ItemPeople2 WHERE ItemId IN (2, 3, 1050094) OR PersonId IN (2, 3, 1050094);

Hope this helps my less SQlite literate friends, but again, before doing anything BACK UP YOUR DATABASE!!!!!!!

@Luke and team, any chance of a fix/cleanup/check for this?
