YKEmbyMedia 4 Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 (edited) Hi, I use OBS studio to stream music video clips via mediamtx tool as RTSP server and want to watch it in Emby (Windows/Android) but I noticed the message about not supported container. Can you help me make a proper stream setup that will not require this transcoding? Log is attached. 1) Setup for Streaming with OBS On Emby added URL "rtsp://@192.168.0.10:8554/live" to IPTV plugin and see container conversion to HSL. 2) Also tried using Recording The result is the same. Moreover, audio being played 192kbps instead of 256. I tested m3u file in SKPlayer and saw needed audio bitrate. ffmpeg-directstream-9dacc8e5-db80-4b94-ab8f-3f68dc3afe9d_1.txt Edited February 21, 2024 by YKEmbyMedia Corrected title+fixed pictures
Luke 43002 Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Hi, your example shows no transcoding. It is just being repackaged into a new container.
YKEmbyMedia 4 Posted February 22, 2024 Author Posted February 22, 2024 Not realy, the audio is transcoded to lower bitrate 192 instead of 256 http://192.168.0.5:8096/emby/videos/59613/live.m3u8?DeviceId=a70b6978-bfd4-4ff3-ba70-b3d7caa71bac&MediaSourceId=d4d1e6d4c37043b7b0a5835416574a18&PlaySessionId=b660fa2e1deb4eb1b712fbeabd8f51d5&api_key=52e1cdb531994eb18eda42c8389d7da6&VideoCodec=h264,h265,hevc,av1&AudioCodec=mp3,aac&VideoBitrate=159808000&AudioBitrate=192000&MaxWidth=3840&AudioStreamIndex=1&TranscodingMaxAudioChannels=2&SegmentContainer=m4s,ts&MinSegments=1&BreakOnNonKeyFrames=True&SubtitleStreamIndexes=-1&ManifestSubtitles=vtt&h264-profile=high,main,baseline,constrainedbaseline,high10&h264-level=62&hevc-codectag=hvc1,hev1,hevc,hdmv&TranscodeReasons=ContainerNotSupported Also I tested streaming OPUS or LPCM audio and it is transcoded to AAC and MP3. IPTV & M3U
Luke 43002 Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Opus we can probably get to direct stream, but the pcm one will need to be converted.

godfuture 5 Posted Tuesday at 06:45 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:45 PM (edited) Hey guys, I come from I guess in this thread here its about mediamtx providing a stream to emby, right? Could emby also be used to provide media to mediamtx such that others could stream it? I would love something like silent cinema or silent party where emby is playing towards a media streamer where others could easily subscribe for video or audio. For example, if a Raspi is providing a wifi hotspot next to its regular wifi network connection and hosts mediamtx, it only needs to appear as emby client. As a user I could select playback in Raspi. This would be awesome for some summer nights. Edited Tuesday at 06:51 PM by godfuture
