Emby will not run after install

I downloaded emby server for Linux

I have installed emby  on linux mint.

I used the command  http://localhost:8096/web/wizardstart.html    to start setup and  got  UNABLE to CONNECT message

I tried   localhost:8096 and was given the message  UNABLE to CONNECT

I re-installed emby and tried again,,, same thing

OK, what am I missing???

Hi, are you sure you started the server after installing?

A few basic suggestions
Check the firewall.
Check to see if emby-server is actually running  -- sudo systemctl status emby-server

This will show let you know if emby-server is running.  After that check the Emby logs (/var/lib/emby/logs) and look at embyserver.txt to see what's going on.

Is in emby server log file generated in the server logs folder?

I already gave up on the install via the download from the web site and

installed the flatpak version from the Software Managerin Mint.

I really do not like to install flatpaks, but it installed and is working.

BTW  I have been using my browser to set things up and play video etc,,,,  and just installed emby theater and when I try to play a video it says I need to buy the prem

Is this normal when using an app to play a video instead of the browser?????

In the end more direct play capabilities depending on your media codecs.

Additional time and resources the go into each individual device/client app. 

But there are lots of people happy with just a browser.

CLOSED THIS PROBLEM   I re-installed Emby Server ...  TWICE and then it worked
